Why should I rent instead of purchase
If you are always on the hunt for more value with less, tool rental service might just be what you are looking for owing to its time and cost-saving modus operandi. Not only you save money and the time spent having to research before buying a set of tools and/or equipment, you spare yourself from the hassle of needing to free up space for storage and maintenance, especially if this is a one-off repair or just a weekend project.
How long is the tool rental period?
We offer several rental period options for you to choose from ranging from 4-hour rental, 24-hour rental, 7-days rental (including weekends and public holidays), to 4-weeks rental (including weekends and public holidays). Depending on the scale of your project, you may select any one of the rental period options at the checkout.
Should you wish to extend your rental period, you may contact us via WhatsApp and make the necessary payment within 24 hours. If you have extended without notifying us in advance, it will be regarded as late return and a penalty fee shall be incurred. If you have requested for an extension and payment has not been made within 24 hours (with exceptions for valid reasons or prior notice), it shall be regarded as late return and a small penalty fee shall be incurred.
How do I rent the tools/equipment?
Step 1
Browse our Tool Rental page and select the tools you need. During checkout, you may opt for your preferred collection mode between delivery and self pick-up.
Step 2
After checkout, you should receive an order confirmation via email on your tool rental details. For self pick-up, you may collect the tools on the selected date. Whilst for delivery, you may anticipate to receive the tools and/or equipment within 3 business days.
Step 3
Return the tools based on the scheduled return date or contact us should you need an extension on the rental period.
Is there any hidden terms and conditions to renting the tools/equipment?
Nope, here at Tool’s Library, we practice a non-discrimination policy and offer tool rental service to anyone who wishes to rent and be a part of our community. As long as the tools and/or equipment are available and have their safety checked, we are more than happy to help.
What does the rental fee include?
There are two parts to the rental fee: the tools or equipment and the rental period. The rental fee varies based on the tools and/or equipment you have chosen as well as the tool rental period you have opted at the checkout. You may review whether your order is correct and all in order based on the tools and/or equipment reference images before you proceed to make the payment.
Can I purchase the tools/equipment instead of renting them?
Of course! You may view the tool rental service as a trial for the products you are looking to buy in terms of ease of use, comfort of grip, safety and efficiency…you name it! That way, you find out what’s best before committing to buying a whole set of tools and equipment. For purchase, kindly visit [insert link].
Where can I view my tool rental order?
You may log into your account and view it under ‘My Order’ tab.
What are your operation hours?
The operation hours for our headquarters office at Batu Caves starts from 8a.m. to 5p.m. (Monday to Friday). Other locations including Little Pipit, Balakong and Kongsi KL, Jalan Klang Lama shall be by appointment basis only, which are the scheduled pick-up and return dates.
Can I lend the tools/equipment to a third party?
Yes, you may. However, we do not condone such practice and should a dispute or a problem arise, Tool’s Library will not partake and be responsible for any issue. In the case of impaired or missing tools and/or equipment (and/or other related concerns), the person who has directly rented the tools and/or equipment from Tool’s Library shall remain liable for any damages incurred.
PRODUCT / BORROWING
Can I bring the tools/equipment out-of-state or overseas?
Yes, you may as long as you return them on the scheduled return date.
What should I do if I encounter a problem with the tools/equipment?
Should you encounter a problem with the tools and/or equipment you have rented, do not hesitate to contact our customer service and our personnel will attend to you within 24 hours.
Will the tools/equipment fit into my vehicle?
The tools and/or equipment will most likely fit into a 5-seater vehicle. However, as a safety precaution, we also provide dimensions to each of the product in the respective product description dropdown for your reference. During the pick-up, our personnel will assist in getting the tools and/or equipment into your car safely. Should you still have concerns, you can always choose to have them delivered to you.
Do you require a deposit payment for tool rental service?
Yes, we do. Rest assured the deposit payment will be refunded upon receiving the tools and/or equipment as per the condition of when we have rented them to you.
What happens if I have caused a damage to the tools/equipment during use?
Depending on the severity of the damage incurred, the deposit may be forfeited partially or in full. However, you may also purchase an insurance at the checkout. In the case of the damage being covered by insurance, the deposit will be refunded in full.

Can I extend the tool rental period?

While making payment at the checkout, I have encountered an error on website and now I am unsure if the payment has gone throught and whether my order has been placed?
Fret not, one sure way to find out is to see if you have received an email confirmation on your order. Another way to find out is to logout and exit the webpage, reload the website and log into your account, then view under ‘My Order’ and see if your order has been placed successfully. Should you need more assistance, do not hesitate to contact our customer service for help.
What are the packages available for tool rental?
We offer several rental period options for you to choose from ranging from 4-hour rental, 24-hour rental, 7-days rental (including weekends and public holidays), to 4-weeks rental (including weekends and public holidays). Depending on the scale of your project, you may select any one of the rental period options at the checkout. Alongside the tool rental period, you may also opt for an insurance to cover for any damages incurred during your rental period.
We are also introducing an exciting tool rental package, which is a bundle tool rental set that comes with all the necessary tools and/or equipment and accessories categorised by task (for e.g. building furniture). So, do check out the available packages under ‘Tool Rental > Bundle Tool Rental Set’ regularly as we update new packages from time to time!
PICK UP / SHIPPING / RETURN
Do you offer self pick-up option?
Yes, we do. However, it is only limited to Klang Valley area at the moment. But frent not, we are looking to expand this option to more areas in due time, so stay tuned!
What information do I need to bring along during my pick-up?
We normally require you to show us the email confirmation of your tool rental order if you have placed your order online. It is advisable to collect during the scheduled timing to avoid long waiting period.
How is the cost of delivery calculated?
The cost of delivery varies depending on the weight of the tools and/or equipment as well as the location for delivery.
How do I return the tools/equipment?
If you have opted for self pick-up, you may return the tools and/or equipment by way of drop-off or by the modes of delivery or shipping on the scheduled return date at the same location during your pick-up. If you have opted for delivery, you may return via the modes of delivery or shipping (if applicable) to our headquarters office at Batu Gombak.
During return, the tools and/or equipment shall be in a clean and similar condition as per when you have picked them up. Please ensure that all other accessories in relation to the item including batteries, cables and attachments are returned as well.
What happens if I returned the tools/equipment later than the scheduled return date?
A penalty fee will be calculated starting on the day after the scheduled return date and you will not be able to place a new tool rental order until all of the tools and/or equipment have been returned. Your balance deposit (after deducting the penalty fee) will be held until you have returned all of the tools and/or equipment.
If you are a frequent offender of late returns or overdue and/or damaged or lost items, we reserve the rights to hold your deposit as well as to refuse our provision of services to you.
Do I need to return the tools/equipment in clean condition?
Would you prefer to receive the items in clean condition? All of us do! And that’s why, to ensure everyone has a great tool rental experience, we surely need you to return the tools and/or equipment in clean condition.
Can I return the tools/equipment via shipping? How does it affect my tool rental period?
Yes you may return the tools and/or equipment by the mode of shipping and we shall regard the return date as the day that you have dropped the tools and/or equipment for shipping via the tracking number you have provided to us. The deposit will be refunded upon having the tools and/or equipment delivered to us in the required condition.
If I returned the tools/equipment earlier than the scheduled return date, do I get a refund on the rental fee?
No refund on the rental fee if you have returned the tool and/or equipment earlier than the scheduled return date. A refund will only be issued if there was an issue with your tool rental order.
